Trainer Assessors

If you are wishing to take the next step in your lifeguard career and train the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), you can become a Trainer Assessor in Units 1 and 2

To train Unit 1 of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), you will need to become a Pool Lifeguard Trainer Assessor (Unit 1 TA).

If you are wishing to train Unit 2 of the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ), you will need to become a Pool Supervision Trainer Assessor (Unit 2 TA).

As a minimum, you will need to be 18 years of age, be a member of the Royal Life Saving Society UK and hold a full National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).

National Trainer Assessors

NTA’s can deliver Train the Trainer and Train the Assessor courses through the RLSS UK Trainer Assessor programme.  If you are an experienced TA and would like further information on how to become an NTA, please contact Peter Lewis (RLSS UK Workforce Dev. Officer) for further information

National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches and Bronze Medallion

Holders of the full Pool Trainer Assessor qualification can also qualify as a National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC) and Bronze Medallion (BM) Trainer Assessor by simply completing a distance learning pack.

The NRASTC and BM Trainer Assessor distance learning packs each contain the information needed by a Trainer Assessor to organise and run the courses, this includes syllabi and administration information and sample candidate packs.
