Around 450 babies, children and adults drown in the UK each year – one every 20 hours Over 500 babies, children and adults die unnecessarily each year from choking Heart attacks are the singlelargest cause of early deaths in the UK. 150,000 people die each year – one every 3 minutes Lifesavers The Royal Life Saving Society UK aims to teach everyone how to save a life, should the occasion arise – to become a lifesaver rather than a bystander.

Lifesavers' aim is to teach everyone in the country how to become a potential lifesaver in any situation. To achieve this the charity is looking to raise £2.9 million.
