Events
The Society hosts the Quinquennial Commonwealth Conference and Lifesaving Championships in Britain every 5 years and the next will be held in Bath between 24-29 September 2006. These Championships, are sanctioned by the Commonwealth Games Federation and the International Lifesaving Federation and attract swimmers not only from the developed nations of the Commonwealth but also those that are in the developmental stage of lifesaving training and lifesaving sport. At the last Commonwealth Championships held in Durban, South Africa, representatives from developing nations such as Botswana, Lesotho, Mauritius, Mozambique, Swaziland and Zambia participated.
The Society is delighted that HRH Prince Michael of Kent has agreed to open the Conference and Championships and I know many delegates from around the Commonwealth cherish the opportunity to meet and chat with their President.
